FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is a Public Adjuster?

A public adjuster is a professional insurance adjuster hired by the policyholder who has suffered property damage that is covered by insurance. Public Adjusters do not represent the insurance company, rather advocates for the insured. They are involved in: Reviewing, Preparing, Negotiating, and Settling the Claim. A public adjuster will get their clients the best possible settlements from the insurance company as quickly as possible.

How are public adjusters paid?

An adjuster is paid a small percentage of the claim. By hiring a public adjuster the small percentage is incurred by the larger settlements. There are no up front costs. A public adjuster is only paid if there is a claim settlement.

If I have already filed a claim and the insurance company sent me a check, can I still hire a public adjuster?

YES! You should call us immediately when a loss occurs . But, in the event you don’t, we can re-open the claim and pursue the necessary steps for a fair settlement.

Can I file and prepare a claim without the use of a public adjuster?

It is not a wise idea to pursue a claim without an experienced advocate on your side. You can file a claim on your own. The results will not be close to what a public adjuster can do.

Will my insurance company cancel my policy if I use a public adjuster to handle my claim?

Absolutely Not! The insurance company actually prefers to work with a public adjuster on complicated losses in order to settle the claim. A public adjuster provides all of the necessary paperwork to the insurance company, for their review, and will expedite a fair claim settlement.
